Michael Walmsley (M Phty, BHMS)
Michael completed a Bachelor of Human Movement Science (Exercise Science) at Southern Cross University in Lismore in 2003. He then went on to study his Masters of Physiotherapy and graduated from the University of Canberra in 2008. Michael initially worked as a Physiotherapist for 4 years at the Canberra Hospital before travelling to the UK. He spent 2 years working in the NHS working in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. After a short stint working for the London Broncos Rugby League team Michael and his partner then relocated to Auckland NZ. After 2 years working in Private Practice in Auckland he headed home to Australia in early 2017.
Michael has worked in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy for the last 7 years, treating a huge variety of injuries and conditions. Michael is continually adding to his skill set having completed Sports Level 1 trainer, Level 1 Strength and Conditioning training, Foundation in Acupuncture plus a variety of continuing education courses in Wrist/Elbow/Hand, Foot/Ankle and Shoulder. He has a keen interest in, and has treated and worked, with athletes of all levels.
Aside from working with us here at physioFIX, Michael is currently helping the East Brisbane Rugby League team and until early 2017, was a keen rugby league player himself. He has now turned his attention to Half Marathons and is wishing to take part in an Olympic distance triathlon in the near future.
